Rising Stars Awards Winner 2026 – Most Memorable Moment

Miller Redpath Memorial Award for Most Memorable Moment

This award in presented in memory of one of our founder members, Miller Redpath, who sadly died in 2013 aged just 17. Miller’s personality, unique singing voice and head-banging style of dancing are always the first things we remember when thinking of that initial show.

The Memorable Moment Award is given to a person or group of people involved in an event or incident which springs instantly to mind when recalling a production in the last 12 months.

AND THE WINNER IS….. Mr D’s song – Another Terrible Day

Alfie with the Miller Redpath Memorial Award shield for Most Memorable Moment

Alfie’s performance as Mr D in ‘The Lightning Thief’ was hilarious from the very first rehearsal. In his song ‘Another Terrible Day’ he had to deal with a huge variety of props, magic tricks and other cast members – all while remembering the words and choreography for a very difficult song. As well as perfecting his performance, he managed to perform it in a fresh and interesting way every time which even had the production team in stitches.

Thank you Alfie for a truly memorable performance.

Rising Stars Awards Winner 2026 – Outstanding Personal Contribution

We do expect a lot from our cast – we expect them to turn up to all rehearsals with the equipment they need, learn their words, moves and dances, practice at home, find costumes pieces etc etc. Thank you to all our cast that do all of that so well.

The Outstanding Personal Contribution award is given to a Rising Stars member who has made the biggest personal contribution to the success of Rising Stars in the previous 12 months. In a nutshell, someone who has gone above and beyond what is ordinarily expected of a member.

AND THE WINNER IS….. Pip

Pip with their award shield for Outstanding Personal Contribution

Pip was recognised for all the support they have given to the group over the last 12 months. As well as attending all publicity events to help promote the shows, they are always quick to help others in the group, passing on their skills and knowledge to less experienced members.

Pip was also commended for being a genuinely sunny and cheerful person who makes rehearsals more enjoyable and for bringing lots of fun and energy – even on tiring all day rehearsals.

Thank you for all your hard work, Pip

Rising Stars Awards Winners 2026 – Most Improved Members

Rising Stars held their annual awards ceremony after the last performance of The Lightning Thief on Saturday 21st March 2026.
The first two awards were for the Most Improved Members.

It was very obvious to us right from the start that being in Rising Stars was more than just singing, dancing and putting on a show. We noticed that members grew in confidence, made new friends and developed all sorts of essential life skills, such as teamwork, interpersonal skills and management.

The Most Improved Member award is not given to the most talented cast member – although many of our previous winners have developed into great performers and taken principal roles. The award is given to the member who has shown the most improvement in some aspect of their performance skills or personality in the previous 12 months as a direct result of their involvement with Rising Stars.

There are two awards in this category – Under 13 Years & 13 years and over.

Most Improved Member – Under 13 years

AND THE WINNER IS….. Grace

Grace with the award shield for Most Improved member - under 13 years

When Grace first joined Rising Stars, she was a great dancer, but very nervous about singing so was more comfortable in the ensemble. Since then, she has pushed herself to improve her confidence in her singing ability, challenging herself to audition for roles that required great characterisation and solo singing.

Over the last 12 months, we have had great pleasure in watching her continue to improve and used this new confidence to help younger, less experienced cast members. Well done, Grace!

Most Improved Member – 13 years and over

AND THE WINNER IS….. Grace

Grace with the award shield for Most Improved member - 13 years and over

When Grace first joined Rising Stars she was very shy and initially found it difficult to socialise with other cast members. She was always a solid, reliable member of the ensemble with a good singing voice, but never pushed herself forward.

Grace has undergone a massive transformation over the last 12 months. She challenged herself to audition for her dream role of Clarisse in ‘The Lightning Thief’. Not only did she get the role, but she absolutely smashed it – delighting audiences every night. Her confidence has soared and she is now a sociable and popular member of the group. Well done Grace, we are all so thrilled for you.

Congratulations to you both. We look forward to seeing you perform in many more shows with us.

The three donkeys in Arabian Nights were small roles that left a big impression. Their masks, mannerisms and comical “Eeyoores” made us chuckle every time – even after seeing it over and over. The audiences loved the donkeys too, giving them the biggest laugh every night.

Rising Stars Awards Winners 2025 – Most Improved Members

Rising Stars Awards - Most Improved member

Rising Stars held their annual awards ceremony after the last performance of Arabian Nights on Saturday 29th March 2025.

Most Improved Member – Under 13 years

AND THE WINNER IS….. Lily

Lily, winner of the most improved member 2025 in the Under 13 category.

When Lily first tried to join Rising Stars, she was so shy and nervous that she couldn’t sing in front of us. Unsuccessful in that attempt, she tried again for the next show and has grown in confidence and ability ever since. She even went on to audition for (and get) the role of The Tailor in Arabian Nights – a role that required great characterisation and solo singing.

Over the last 12 months, we have had great pleasure in watching her improve in confidence and always prepared to push herself outside of her comfort zone to try new things. Well done, Lily!

Most Improved Member – 13 years and over

AND THE WINNER IS….. Millie

Millie, winner of the most improved member 2025 in the 13 years and over category.

Millie has been a member of Rising Stars for a few years and has always been a popular and much-valued member of the group. However, over the last 12 months, the improvement in her acting has been phenomenal. With very little input from the production team, she took every role she played and made it her own, making each performance fresh and 100% convincing – as well as learning huge amounts of dialogue and getting it word perfect every time.

Well done Millie! We are so fortunate to have such a talented actor in our group.

Congratulations to you both. We look forward to seeing you perform in many more shows with us.

Rising Stars Long Service Awards 2025

Rising Stars Awards Winner 2024 – Most Memorable Moment

Miller Redpath Memorial Award for Most Memorable Moment

This award in presented in memory of one of our founder members, Miller Redpath, who sadly died in 2013.

The entire cast of That’s Life!

The cast of That’s Life! was something special. From the very first rehearsal, they bonded as a team, supported each other and worked extremely hard to develop the show from it’s lowly beginnings to our usual high standards.

The Most Memorable Moment occurred during the opening number of the Saturday performance. An electrical storm earlier in the day had already caused power fluctuations and outages in the area. A sudden surge caused the sound desk to go haywire, leaving our sound engineer with no option but to kill the backing track and restart the system.

Technical problems like these usually spell disaster but not for our cast. Without hesitation they finished the song completely unaccompanied, including humming the music for the dance break. It turned out to be an absolute show-stopper, with rapturous applause from the appreciative audience who acknowledged their skill and bravery.

Thank you to the entire cast for a marvellous memory.

Rising Stars Awards Winner 2024 – Outstanding Personal Contribution

The Outstanding Personal Contribution award is given to a Rising Stars member who has made the biggest personal contribution to the success of Rising Stars in the previous 12 months. In a nutshell, someone who has gone above and beyond what is ordinarily expected of a member.

AND THE WINNER IS….. Rosie

Rosie, winner of the Personal Contribution Award 2024

Rosie was recognised for all the support they have given to the production teams over the last 12 months. Mirroring her role as Mrs Darling in Peter Pan, she became the ‘Mum’ of the cast, supporting the younger members with everything from developing their performance skills to quick changes. She even formed part of the stage crew!

Thank you for all your hard work, Rosie.
